I grew up in the southeast corner of Oklahoma in a family having a rich tradition of hunting. We went deer hunting, squirrel hunting, turkey hunting, and engaged in most every form of outdoor activity. It was always my goal to have a job where I could work with animals and spend most of my time in the field. I had a dream to one day go to Alaska. I wanted to be involved with Brown Bear hunting and to learn everything I could about these special creatures and to ultimately be involved in managing them. To help accomplish these goals I went to the University of Texas to learn everything I could about wildlife. I was honored to receive a degree in Biology and Wildlife Management and ultimately fulfilled my dream of living in Alaska. It is now my privilege to offer you several Alaska bear hunts, which are my specialty.
Enjoy the Ultimate Hunting Experience as we stalk the Giant Brown Bear in his natural environment on the Alaska Peninsula. This is a sparsely populated land rich in history with dormant volcanoes and pristine rivers teeming with spawning Salmon. Together we’ll enjoy these magnificent animals and learn about their characteristics and habits. I’ll teach you to be able to tell the difference between a male and a female. We’ll be able to estimate their ages and then only select a big mature boar that is over 18 years of age for us to stalk. To harvest such an animal is truly one of the world’s ultimate hunting achievements. Your big Brown Bear will be considered to be among the top 10 trophies in the world.
Do you want to add an Interior Grizzly Bear to your trophy room? Come and enjoy great grizzly bear hunting in the fall when the Grizzly Bear migrate out of the timber and begin to concentrate on the hillsides to feed on the rich berry crops. Some of the interior game units even allow 2 Grizzly Bear per season and they don’t count against the 1 Grizzly Bear every four years regulation. We’ll glass the hillsides looking for a big boar that will exceed 8 foot square. It’s a wonderful time of the year with Alaska’s brilliant fall colors and the opportunity to look over a bunch of Grizzly Bear.
The primeval Rain Forest on the southeast Gulf Coast of Alaska is where we hunt our trophy Coastal Black Bear. Here we have an exclusive permit to hunt private land and have a very large population of Black Bear. In the spring it is not uncommon to see more than 10 bear in a single day of hunting Black Bear. My philosophy is again to manage these Black Bear and take only the older boars. As a result, the majority of the Black Bear we take will have skulls that score large enough to go into the record book. Some monsters are available that will measure over 7 foot square. This is a wonderful land on the rugged Gulf Coast. We’ll walk the old logging roads and find Black Bear feeding on new grass and wild Strawberries. In addition to Black Bear hunting you will see lots of Moose, Mountain Goats, Bald Eagles, and all kinds of birds and marine life.
In addition to hunting the Alaska Peninsula Brown Bear, Interior Grizzly Bear, and big Coastal Black Bear, all of which are my specialty, I also offer hunts in other game rich areas of Alaska. Would you like to pursue the elusive pure white Mountain Goat that inhabits the Coastal Mountains of Alaska? We’ll hunt them on private land where you will not have competition from other hunters. Come in October when their winter hair is six to eight inches long and they are migrating down from their lofty peaks to lower levels due to the snow fall. Hunt large trophy Moose on the Coast where the genetics can produce some huge racks measuring over 70 inches. Or take a break from hunting and enjoy some fishing for Silver Salmon that are easily taken from the cold waters of Alaska.
